Get away for a few days and sew on the River.  Work on a UFO (Unfinished Object) or start a new project.  There will be a conference room for your convenience, where you can securely leave your sewing machine and projects. 

A fabulous, hot breakfast is provided, then you can find lunch and dinner at one of our many fine restaurants. There is no pressure, no special itinerary.  You can use your time to sew, enjoy a river boat cruise, go for a walk on the beach, browse the beach shops on Flagler Avenue or the downtown shops along Canal Street. Seaside Sewing & Quilt Shop is just a few blocks away and there are several other fine quilt shops within a 1 hour drive.

He is apprehensive about performing the difficult part of Hamlet in the prestigious Shakespeare in Central Park festival. When the ghost of John Barrymore, arrives, Andrew's life is not his own. Canaveral Seashore Plein Air Paintout

Come and join us for a week of culture, wonderful lodging at the Night Swan Intracoastal Bed & Breakfast, and incredible homemade breakfasts! Watch the artists painting outdoors! The artists will be painting from dawn to dusk for the five days of the Paint Out. As paintings are completed, they will be hung in an on-site “wet room” (gallery) for sale immediately. There will be additional opportunities for art lovers and patrons to view and purchase the paintings completed each day during special sponsored or ticketed evening events:

· Join us Monday, Nov. 8-- 9:00 a.m. at Eldora State House in Canaveral National Seashore for Official Proclamation of Canaveral Seashore Paint Out Week by New Smyrna Beach Mayor Adam Barringer. Broadcast live on AM1230 WSBB

· Meet the Artists—Wine and Cheese Reception at Arts on Douglas, 7 pm, Wednesday, November 10. Open to the public. Paintings produced the first 3 days will be on display and for sale.

· Sunset Paint In—J.B.’s Fish Camp, Thursday, November 11, 3-7 pm. Open to the public. Have a glass of wine or beer as you watch artists paint a beautiful sunset at this quaint Old Cracker restaurant—try some clams caught fresh from the Lagoon--or even some gator appetizers.

· Patrons Gala—Eldora State House Canaveral National Seashore , 7 pm. Friday, November 12. Music, food and beverages. Paintings produced during the week will be on sale; commissions can be booked. Ticketed, $25 pp in advance, $35 at door; free to patrons at $150 level and above.

· Community Quick Draw and Family Fun Day-Canaveral National Seashore, Saturday November 13, 10 am –2 pm. Bring your easel and paint along with the pros, in whatever medium you choose. Compete for three cash prizes. First Prize winner has the chance to have his painting printed on the 2010 T- shirts for Canaveral Seashore Volunteers. Entry fee $10 (artists bring own supplies). FREE “Paint It” and Junior Ranger activities for the kids.

Visit the Lighthouse Keeper in living history mode, as he describes his duties at the Lighthouse. Then join him as he talks about the history of the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse, and demonstrates the maintenance duties on the First Order Fresnel Lens. All included with regular admission, no advance reservations required. $5.00/adults and $1.50/children.

Located at 4931 South Peninsula Drive, Ponce Inlet. Hours of operation are 10am to 9pm with last admission to the grounds at 8pm.

Event Happens: June 25, 2010 3:30 PM-10:00 PM

Bring Dad to Hidden Lakes Golf Club's first annual "Howl at the Moon" Glow Ball Tournament! Bring out the inner beast in Dad! This is a tournament for "Golfer's", and "Gofer's" who are are not familiar with the game of golf, and we have designed a "Gofer" course just for you! Format: A four (4) person team- 18 Hole Best Ball Scramble. The first 9 holes will be played during daylight hours. The second nine holes will be played after sunset. Dinner and skill activities will be scheduled between "Day" and "Night" 9's. All players will need to provide their own flashlights. Fun Things to do in New Smyrna Beach!!

We have some great ideas for fun things to do in New Smyrna Beach! The kids are out of school and they are ready for action! Bring them to the beach and enjoy all that our quaint town has to offer. There are plenty of activities for the whole family!

• Atlantic Center for the Arts is having summer art camps. Spend the week with us and let the maestros create something spectacular while you enjoy the area shopping and activities!

How about teaching the youngsters about Bird Watching in New Smyrna Beach? Did you know that our local state park, Canaveral National Seashore, is home to more than 400 different bird species! What a fun & educational activity! It would also make a great scrap booking project....bird photos....bird sketches.... hmmmm.

Fishing Tournament, New Smyrna Beach

The Redfish-Trout Challenge and the Striker Offshore Tournament come to New Smyrna Beach for Memorial Day Weekend. These two fishing contests attract nearly 1,000 competitive anglers from throughout the country, competing for thousands of dollars in cash and prizes.

The Striker Fish Tournament focuses on the wahoo, tuna, dolphin and king mackerel.

Hell’s Bay Boatworks has designed and built a release tank, which provides 6,000 gallons of water per hour, identical to the fish’s original environment. Because the tank is located on a floating dock, the fish are taken to the shallow-water estuary and allowed to recover fully before being released back into their environment.

FishStock is a four-day festival that brings together two of the top saltwater fishing tournaments in the nation, along with all the excitement of the onshore festivities at the FishStock Village. The annual event will be held at Riverside Park in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, on May 27-30.

Surf Contest

This weekend is the big Landshark Pro 2010 Surf Contest in New Smyrna Beach, Florida!!

The Junior Pro is for those 19 years and under, as well as the Landshark Pro with a minimum $20,000 purse for all Pro Am Surfers.
